When selecting the best dog food, it’s important to consider the quality of ingredients, nutritional balance, and specific dietary needs of your pet.
Here are some top vet-recommended options:
Primal frozen nuggets
- High-quality, balanced nutrition with natural ingredients.
I really like the Primal brand frozen nuggets. They’re not necessarily the cheapest but they’ll keep your dogs in shape, healthy, less smelly poop, smaller poop, and give them a nice long life.

JustFoodForDogs Pantry Fresh Wet Dog Food
- Fresh, human-grade ingredients tailored for optimal canine health.
Royal canin dog food
- Offers breed-specific formulas to meet the unique needs of different breeds.
Hills Science Diet Dog Food
- Designed with high-quality ingredients and balanced nutrition.
Purina pro plan dog food
- Offers a range of formulas for different life stages and health needs.
That’s a very good choice! You’re good to go, if your dogs are happy to eat Royal Canin there’s no need to switch it up if it’s fitting your budget. If you do want something more affordable which nevertheless fits high standards, Purina has a bunch of different lines at different price points. Even Purina Pro Plan (the fancy one) is a lower price point than Royal Canin, and when I told my veterinarian that I was feeding my puppy Purina Pro Plan she said, “Oooh, the good stuff.” You’re basically already giving your dogs the caviar of kibble, haha.
