This Fried Potato Mochi recipe is made with potato flour and fried, rather than being made withrice flour and steamed. It has a unique and slightly chewy texture, and is often served with a dipping sauce.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Cup Potato Flour or Boiled Potatoes
  • 1/2 Cup water (If using, Potato Flour)
  • 1/4 Teaspoon salt
  • 1 Tablespoon oil
  • 1/4 Cup cornstarch

Notes

  • In a medium bowl, combine the potato flour, water, and salt. Mix well to form a smooth batter.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the oil and swirl to coat.
  • Scoop 1 tablespoon of batter into the skillet and spread into a small circle.
  • Cook for 1–2 minutes per side, or until golden brown and slightly puffy.
  • Remove to a plate lined with paper towels.
  • Repeat with the remaining batter.
  • Serve warm with a dipping sauce of your choice.
