- 1/2 cup Warm Milk
- 1/4 cup Water
- 2 tsp Active Dry Yeast
- 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 tbsp Granulated Sugar
- 2 Large Eggs
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- 1 cup Unsalted Butter 1.5
- 1.5 cup Pearl Sugar
- In a small bowl, mix together warm milk and warm water. Add in the active dry yeast and whisk until dissolved. Let sit for 10 minutes.
- Combine flour, salt, and granulated sugar in a large mixing bowl. Mix well.
- In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together eggs and vanilla extract.
- Pour the yeast and egg mixture into the bowl with the flour mixture. Stir well until all ingredients are combined.
- Using a stand mixer fitted with a dough hook, knead the dough for 10 minutes on medium speed.
- Add the room temperature butter, and knead for 10 minutes on medium speed.
- Cover the bowl with a damp towel, and let the dough rise for 1 hour.
- After the dough has risen, add the pearl sugar and gently mix in by hand.
- Preheat your waffle iron to medium-high heat.
- Take a small portion of the dough (about the size of a golf ball), and roll it into a ball. Place the ball onto the waffle iron, and cook for 3–5 minutes or until golden brown.
- Repeat with the remaining dough, making sure to clean the waffle iron in between each waffle.
- Serve hot with your desired toppings, such as whipped cream, fruit, or chocolate.
