Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Warm Milk
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • 2 tsp Active Dry Yeast
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Granulated Sugar
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter 1.5
  • 1.5 cup Pearl Sugar

Notes

  1. In a small bowl, mix together warm milk and warm water. Add in the active dry yeast and whisk until dissolved. Let sit for 10 minutes.
  2. Combine flour, salt, and granulated sugar in a large mixing bowl. Mix well.
  3. In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together eggs and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the yeast and egg mixture into the bowl with the flour mixture. Stir well until all ingredients are combined.
  5. Using a stand mixer fitted with a dough hook, knead the dough for 10 minutes on medium speed.
  6. Add the room temperature butter, and knead for 10 minutes on medium speed.
  7. Cover the bowl with a damp towel, and let the dough rise for 1 hour.
  8. After the dough has risen, add the pearl sugar and gently mix in by hand.
  9. Preheat your waffle iron to medium-high heat.
  10. Take a small portion of the dough (about the size of a golf ball), and roll it into a ball. Place the ball onto the waffle iron, and cook for 3–5 minutes or until golden brown.
  11. Repeat with the remaining dough, making sure to clean the waffle iron in between each waffle.
  12. Serve hot with your desired toppings, such as whipped cream, fruit, or chocolate.
